Earlier today we told you all about our invitation to participate in the 42nd Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend's Holiday Designer Tour of Homes! We're really excited to open our home along for a good cause so participants can enjoy our holiday decor. 

After we were invited to participate in this year's tour, we asked if there would be any way we could give away two tickets to our readers. We figured you guys are the main reason why we're on the tour in the first place, so we'd love to give someone a chance to win and attend. The Campagna Center happily donated two tickets, valued at $70, to give away to one of our lucky readers.

We'll be around Old Town all weekend during the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend, so we hope to bump into you if you're around. My bday is the first of Dec, and our tradition is to get our tree that weekend, but aside from that I really dont have any decorating ideas just yet. I am kind of in denial that it is sneaking up already?

I love Christmas, and I can't wait to pull out all the decorations the day after Thanksgiving! I usually do the same thing every year. However, I always try to incorporate a new decoration or idea. I also add a new ornament to the tree for both of our boys.

An Old Town Christmas!

We always fill our tree up with ornaments passed down in the family - most of them were ceramics painted by my grandma, who's now 94 years old. I'm excited about doing more to the outside of our house this year than we did last year (it was kinda crazy with major renovations and we considered it a success just to have a tree up :)

I'll be decorating my DC apartment has soon as I get back into town from Thanksgiving. I got a full-size tree on super clearance 4 years ago and love to fill it with all my childhood ornaments.

AN OLD TOWN CHRISTMAS.

We still need to go and pick out our family Christmas tree, but when we do... It's always, ALWAYS snowing when we go to cut it down. haha

I and my boyfriend began a tradition of buying an ornament for every Christmas a few years ago and I can't wait to choose this year's!

We switched last year from a big artificial tree to a little real one last year and were so happy! It fit the scale of our home so much better. We plan on doing this again this year and adding a real wreath to our door.

My favorite part of holiday decorating is the tree of course! Our secret spot to get our Christmas tree is the lowes down on rt 1. The trees are always so pretty and they live for a long time!

An Old Town Christmas

This year will be our first Christmas in our new house (in Old Town!) so we're excited to see how the tree will fit in our skinny row house. My husband and I buy a theme ornament each year to commemorate a special event or activity that took place and we have a blast putting up the ornaments and remembering all the fun times!

Haven't decided how I'm decorating yet, but one of the favorite parts of AN OLD TOWN CHRISTMAS is eating dinner on King Street and window shopping afterwards. Our wedding anniversary is Dec 23, so we always enjoy the tree at Market Square and the white lights all down King Street.

I am living with a new roommate this year and we are both excited to get a fresh tree and pull out our joint decorations and spruce up our apartment! It should be a lot of fun!!!

Can't wait to start decorating! As a Scot/Swede hybrid family, our house will be adorned with old family decorations from both traditions: lots of straw (goats, stars, hearts...) with red ribbon from the Swedish side, and silver and tartan from the Scottish side. Looking forward to seeing what you do -- thank you for this wonderful blog!

This will be my first year to truly decorate for Christmas -- I've always lived in a tiny apartment before. I can't wait to get a big, beautiful live tree, and I'd love to hang wreaths on all my windows.

I always love putting up a very oversized tree for my space because I just love the smell, the lights, and the ornaments so much. This year I really hope to expand our outdoor lighting decorations. My hometown is Hershey PA so I always try to bring a little of the Sweetest Place on Earth into the holidays here too.

Our holiday decorating involves a lot of homemade and hand-me-down ornaments, fresh greenery, and tons of fresh-baked cookies. We don't have trees outside to hang lights, so we have a pretty pathetic light display around the doorway. But the kids enjoy the whole fun of decorating so that's all that matters.

An old town Christmas!!!

Since we always go out of town, we just get one of those mini trees from whole foods to decorate, and we have a garland for our "Christmas stairs" that we hang our stockings from. But this year is our first year with our newly opened porch! So we are thinking about doing something on the outside, too.

An Old Town Christmas!

We switched from a real tree to a fake one for the first time last year and though it is beautiful, I miss the real tree tradition! We generally dress up the mantle, hang wreaths, and bring out the Willow Tree Nativity. My favorite "decoration" is probably the constant fire in the fireplace - then it really feels like Christmas!

I'll be in Saudi Arabia for Christmas this year and I'm goign all out on decorations! My favorite is the 7ft tall illuminated inflated penguin that goes on the front lawn- thankfully I have tolerant neighbors on my compound!

An Old Town Christmas!

We love walking around Old Town in the winter evenings and getting glimpses inside the interesting houses. Our wedding anniversary is the 21st of Dec., and Christmas is our favorite time of year. We plan on decorating with fresh greenery, silver ornaments and old-fashioned silver-glittered decorations. We have never had the opportunity to the attend the Scottish Christmas Walk, but as descendants of Scottish immigrants it has great appeal! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures via the blog. The sunroom is looking great, BTW!

AN OLD TOWN CHRISTMAS

we LOVE this time of the year. we have acquired tons of Christmas decorations that came out of the storage promptly in the first weekend of january: Christmas train in the family room, collection of Santas on the buffet, wreaths on the china cabinet and banisters, lots of candles, moose head (stuffed animal) over the fireplace mantle, nutcracker collection in the hallway, black lanterns on the front steps, real Christmas tree with hundreds of ornaments in the living room and of course a HUGE pile of neatly wrapped gifts around. 2012 Christmas will be very special for us. we will share it with our baby girl for the first time.

I am adding some new ornaments to my tree this year to add some new dimension to it. I hope to get the house done Thanksgiving weekend so that I can enjoy it the rest of the holidays.

I am going to be in the DC area for a girls weekend w/ a long time friend and doing the tour would be a fun activity for us to add to our list!

I always enjoy the parade. To keep the lil bug from stripping the tree we will putting it on the porch. It will look nice from the big living room window.

AN OLD TOWN CHRISTMAS

I can not wait to get our greens (an aunt makes them for us every year) so the house smells of pine. We tend to decorate for the holiday party and use food (things like spiced apple cider and mulled wine) to add to the holiday feel. This year I want to make those candy cane flower arrangements that are on the Scottish Christmas Walk's Pintester page as centerpieces and to give to some of our local friends. (Especially the ones with kids!)

Just hanging our stockings and keeping a minimal, clean-lined mantle area with a touch of greenery. We spend the actual holidays at a relative's place. The less to clean up and put away the better!

On decorating, I'm mostly thinking about how to keep our new puppy (6 mos old) from leaving all our Christmas decorations alone! She's pretty good at letting things be, but I can't imagine a big Christmas tree with twinkle lights won't entice her when we least expect it... a great "training exercise" for sure, any tips?

I am excited about the Heather & Greens I purchased to support The Campagna Center for the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend! I am excited to get creative with the 25 ft boxwood garland inside our home, the square boxwood wreath and an oasis boxwood mini tree for a centerpiece!

It's something of a Christmas miracle, but I don't decorate at all and yet all my tables become covered in these things called "Christmas Tablescapes". If I knew how it happened I'd probably try to stop it.
